Kill Zone: a reconsideration

So it appears that my earlier comments about the board size for Kill Team may have been a little premature. The primary reason for this is that the actual rules don’t appear to stipulate a fixed sized for the game. So while the game board that comes in the box is 22″ x 30″ there is no reason why you can’t (one would say should) play the game on a 44″ x 30″ board or on some multiple of the Moon Base Klasius game boards.

In fact I will be most surprised if there isn’t a Killzone Klaisus released at some point.

Its difficult to make an updated opinion of the game in general because almost all of the videos I have seen use the default game board and don’t seem to use a lot of terrain. The store has everything I need to give it a try so I may grab some minis and give it a try to see what I think.

  1. Exactly. Make it your game. If you want to play on a 4′ x 6′ table, do it! In a number of the online games I have seen played they also just run directly at each other. Granted if you are playing ‘Nids it is a given. I enjoy a bit of movement to set things up. The smaller board just makes for quicker, bloodier, less tactical games. My thoughts were to try KT on a 3×3 or 4×4. Though if you have 2 cardboard mats that works.

    1. The GW folded map boards that the released might be useful since two of those will give you a lot of space. Also using two of the KT boards since, oddly enough, the back of the Sector Mechanicus board is a city board.
